Steve Witting is an American actor known for his roles in various TV series and films. He started his career in the 1980s comedy series Valerie as Jason Bateman's nerdy friend Bert. Witting's passion for acting began in high school when he joined the drama club. Encouraged by his teacher, he became an apprentice at the Hampton Playhouse in New Hampshire. Witting has appeared in notable films like Batman Returns, Hoffa, and Shutter Island. He also made his directorial debut in an episode of Step by Step. In addition to his acting career, Witting was involved with the Hampton Playhouse for many summers as an actor and director. He has also appeared in The Wolf of Wall Street.
