Spielberg is the most commercially successful director in history, with three Academy Awards, two BAFTA Awards, and four Directors Guild of America Awards to his name. He has received numerous accolades, including the AFI Life Achievement Award, Kennedy Center Honor, Cecil B. DeMille Award, and Presidential Medal of Freedom. Seven of his films have been inducted into the National Film Registry by the Library of Congress. Spielberg was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, and studied film in California after moving there from Phoenix, Arizona.
