Susan Abigail Sarandon (née Tomalin) is an American actor. Born on October 4, 1946, Sarandon has received numerous accolades throughout her career, including an Academy Award, a British Academy Film Award, and a Screen Actors Guild Award. She has also been nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award, six Primetime Emmy Awards, and nine Golden Globe Awards. Sarandon began her acting career in the early 1970s, appearing in films such as Joe (1970) and The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975). She achieved critical acclaim and won an Academy Award for her role in Dead Man Walking (1995). Sarandon's other notable films include Atlantic City (1980), Thelma & Louise (1991), and The Client (1994).
