Swoosie Kurtz (born September 6, 1944) is an American actress who has achieved success in both theater and television. She made her Broadway debut in 1975 and has since received five Tony Award nominations, winning for Fifth of July (1981) and The House of Blue Leaves (1986). Kurtz has also garnered attention for her television work, earning eight Emmy Award nominations and winning in 1990 for Carol and Company. She has appeared in popular television shows such as Sisters (1991–1996), Huff (2004–2006), Pushing Daisies (2007–2009), and Mike & Molly (2010–2016).
