He is best known for his role as Torippii, the anthropomorphic green parrot, in the Shimajiro TV series and the Shimajiro film series. Yamazaki has had an extensive career in the 1990s, lending his voice to various characters in popular anime series such as Nintama Rantarō, Brave Police J-Decker, Magic Knight Rayearth, and many others. In the 2000s, he continued his work in popular anime series, including Final Fantasy: Unlimited and Hellsing.
