Tanoai Reed Biography
Tanoai Reed (born February 10, 1974) is an American stuntman and actor. He gained recognition as the stunt double for his cousin Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson. Born in Honolulu, Hawaiʻi, Reed is primarily of Samoan descent with Irish, Norwegian, and Swedish ancestry. After growing up in California, he returned to Hawaiʻi to live with his grandmother. Reed attended Kahuku High School and the University of Hawaiʻi. His stunt career took off with his work on Waterworld (1995), and he has since served as Johnson's stunt double in numerous films. In addition to his stunt work, Reed has appeared in the music video for the Black Eyed Peas song 'Pump It' (2005) and as the gladiator Toa in the 2008 relaunch of American Gladiators.
