Joel Armogasto Martinez, professionally known as The Kid Mero, is a Dominican-American writer, comedian, TV personality, voice actor, YouTube personality, music blogger, and Twitter personality. He gained recognition with his podcast Desus vs. Mero alongside Desus Nice, which premiered in 2013. Martinez was a cast member of Guy Code with Desus Nice and co-hosted the talk show Desus & Mero on Viceland until June 2018. He currently co-hosts the Showtime series Desus & Mero, which premiered in 2019. Born in Washington Heights, Manhattan, Martinez grew up in various neighborhoods in the Bronx.
