Tim Choate (October 11, 1954 – September 24, 2004) was an American actor known for his roles in film and television. Born and raised in Dallas, Texas, Choate began his acting career while attending the University of Texas in Austin and Cornell University. He appeared in theater productions both on Broadway and in Hollywood. Choate's film credits include roles in Merchant Ivory productions such as The Europeans (1979) and Jane Austen in Manhattan (1980). On television, he starred in series like Dragnet and Babylon 5. Choate also performed in regional theater productions at prestigious venues like the Long Wharf Theater and the Kennedy Center.
