Troy Aikman Biography
Troy Kenneth Aikman (born November 21, 1966) is an American former football quarterback who played in the NFL for 12 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys. He played college football at UCLA and won the Davey O'Brien Award as a senior. Aikman was the first overall pick in the 1989 NFL Draft and went on to win three Super Bowls with the Cowboys, earning MVP honors in Super Bowl XXVII. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006 and the College Football Hall of Fame in 2008. After retiring, Aikman worked as a color commentator for NFL on Fox from 2001 to 2021 and currently serves as a color commentator for Monday Night Football. He was also a co-owner of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series team Hall of Fame Racing from 2005 to 2009.
