Tyra Lynne Banks, also known as BanX, is an American television personality, model, producer, writer, and actress. Born on December 4, 1973, in Inglewood, California, Banks began her career as a model at the age of 15. She was the first Black American woman to be featured on the covers of GQ and the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Banks was a Victoria's Secret Angel from 1997 to 2005 and was one of the world's top-earning models in the early 2000s. She ventured into acting, with appearances in the sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, the drama film Higher Learning, and Disney Channel's Life-Size. Banks also had roles in Love & Basketball, Halloween: Resurrection, Gossip Girl, and Glee.
