Van Jones (born September 20, 1968) is an American news and political commentator, author, and lawyer. He served as President Barack Obama's Special Advisor for Green Jobs in 2009 and is a distinguished visiting fellow at Princeton University. Jones is a three-time New York Times bestselling author and an Emmy Award winner. He has hosted or co-hosted several CNN shows, including Crossfire, The Messy Truth, The Van Jones Show, and The Redemption Project with Van Jones. Jones is the founder or co-founder of non-profit organizations such as the Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, Color of Change, and the Dream Corps, which operates three advocacy initiatives: Dream Corps Justice, Dream Corps Tech, and Green for All. He is also the co-founder of Magic Labs Media LLC.
