Victor Jory Biography
Victor Jory (November 23, 1902 – February 12, 1982) was a Canadian-American actor known for his roles on stage, film, and television. Starting out as a romantic lead, he later became known for his portrayal of villainous and sinister characters. Some of his notable roles included Oberon in A Midsummer Night's Dream (1935) and Jonas Wilkerson in Gone with the Wind (1939). From 1959 to 1961, he starred in the television police drama Manhunt. Jory also recorded stories for Peter Pan Records and made guest appearances in several television series. He appeared in numerous theatrical films, often as a supporting player and occasionally as the leading man.
