Wade Boggs

Wade Anthony Boggs (born June 15, 1958) is an American former professional baseball third baseman. He spent 18 seasons in Major League Baseball, primarily with the Boston Red Sox. Boggs played for the New York Yankees from 1993 to 1997, winning the 1996 World Series with them, and finished his career with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays from 1998 to 1999. Boggs became the 23rd player to reach 3,000 career hits. He is 33rd on the list of career leaders for batting average among Major League Baseball players with a minimum of 1,000 plate appearances. Boggs was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 2005. With 12 straight All-Star appearances, he is third in number of consecutive appearances as a third baseman, only behind Brooks Robinson and George Brett.
