Wendi McLendon-Covey

Wendi McLendon-Covey (née McLendon; born October 10, 1969) is an American actress and comedian known for her work in comedic and improvisational roles. She gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of family matriarch Beverly Goldberg on the ABC comedy series The Goldbergs from 2013 to 2023. McLendon-Covey received two Critics' Choice Television Award nominations for Best Actress in a Comedy Series for her performance. Born in Long Beach, California, she worked various jobs before obtaining a degree from California State University, Long Beach in 2000. McLendon-Covey joined the improvisational comedy group The Groundlings and was a member until 2009. She began her acting career while with The Groundlings, starring as Deputy Clementine Johnson in the series Reno 911! (2003–2008, 2020–present). She also had the lead role in the short-lived comedy Lovespring International on Lifetime.
