Wes Craven Biography
Wes Craven (August 2, 1939 – August 30, 2015) was an American film director, screenwriter, producer, actor, and editor. He is widely recognized as one of the greatest masters of the horror genre. Craven is best known for his pioneering work in slasher films, where he combined horror cliches with humor and satire. He created the iconic A Nightmare on Elm Street franchise, writing and directing the first film and later contributing to the third and seventh installments. Craven also directed the first four films in the Scream franchise. Some of his other notable works include The Last House on the Left, The Hills Have Eyes, The People Under the Stairs, and Red Eye.
