CODA follows Ruby, the only hearing member of a deaf family, as she balances helping their struggling fishing business with pursuing her passion for singing. The film features American Sign Language, casting deaf actors in deaf roles, and explores family duty, communication, and personal ambition in a coastal Massachusetts setting.
