The Animatrix

The Animatrix is a 2003 American-Japanese adult animated science-fiction anthology film produced by the Wachowskis. It features nine animated short films that provide the backstory of The Matrix film series, exploring the apocalyptic war between humanity and machines which led to the creation of the Matrix, while also expanding the universe with side stories.
