About The Good German
The Good German is a 2006 American neo-noir crime film directed by Steven Soderbergh. Based on Joseph Kanon's 2001 novel of the same name, the film stars George Clooney, Cate Blanchett, and Tobey Maguire. Set in Berlin after the Allied victory over the Nazis, it follows an American journalist entangled in a murder mystery during the Potsdam negotiations. As he investigates the mysterious death of a GI, the plot converges with his quest to find his former German lover.
