What is Killer Soup (TV) About?
Killer Soup is a Hindi-language black comedy-cum-crime thriller series that premiered on Netflix. Directed by Abhishek Chaubey and co-written by a team including Chaubey, Harshad Nalawade, Anant Tripathi, and Unaiza Merchant, the series unravels a sinister narrative of ambition and murder in the quaint fictional town of Mainjur, Tamil Nadu. The protagonist, Swathi Shetty, portrayed by Konkona Sen Sharma, harbors a dream of opening her own restaurant. However, her aspirations come to a jarring halt after a murder disrupts the order of her life. Desperate times call for desperate measures, and in an outrageous move, Swathi, along with her lover, Umesh Pillai—both roles masterfully enacted by Manoj Bajpayee—hatch a plan to replace her unsuspecting husband with Umesh, who eerily resembles him. This switch is pivotal to preserving Swathi's dream and masking the crime. With a cast that includes Nassar as Inspector Hassan, Sayaji Shinde as the elder brother of Swathi's husband, and Anula Navlekar, among others, the series interlaces humor and thrills, creating a compelling watch. Inspired by real-life events from 2017, Killer Soup captivates viewers with its twisted plot and the confrontations that follow this dark, devious substitutive strategy.
The first episode of Killer Soup aired on January 11, 2024 and the most recent episode to air was on January 11, 2024.
