Adrian Lester Biography
Adrian Lester (born Anthony Harvey on 14 August 1968) is an English actor, director, and writer. He has received several prestigious awards for his work on the London stage, including a Laurence Olivier Award, an Evening Standard Theatre Award, and a Critics' Circle Theatre Award. Lester was born in Birmingham to Jamaican immigrant parents. He began his acting career at the Birmingham Youth Theatre and later trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London. Notable performances include his portrayal of Rosalind in Cheek by Jowl's production of As You Like It, for which he received an Ian Charleson Award commendation and a Time Out Award.
