Billy Corgan

Billy Corgan, born William Patrick Corgan Jr. on March 17, 1967, is an American musician, songwriter, and wrestling promoter. He is widely recognized as the lead singer, primary songwriter, guitarist, and sole permanent member of the rock band The Smashing Pumpkins. Corgan co-founded the band in 1988 in Chicago, alongside guitarist James Iha, bassist D'arcy Wretzky, and drummer Jimmy Chamberlin. The Smashing Pumpkins achieved both commercial success and critical acclaim with their strong album sales and large-scale tours throughout the 1990s. Following their breakup in 2000, Corgan formed the band Zwan and released a solo album called TheFutureEmbrace in 2005, along with a collection of poetry titled Blinking with Fists. Corgan later reformed The Smashing Pumpkins with a new lineup and has released multiple albums and extensively toured since 2007. In addition to his musical pursuits, Corgan is also the owner and promoter of the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA).
