Donald Pleasence Biography
Donald Henry Pleasence (5 October 1919 – 2 February 1995) was an English actor known for his stage and screen performances. He began his career in the West End and later transitioned into film, taking on various supporting and character roles. Pleasence appeared in notable films such as The Great Escape (1963), You Only Live Twice (1967), THX 1138 (1971), and Wake in Fright (1971). He achieved recognition for his role as Dr. Samuel Loomis in Halloween (1978) and its sequels, earning a Saturn Award nomination. Pleasence also collaborated with director John Carpenter in Escape from New York (1981) and Prince of Darkness (1987). He had a successful career in both American and European-produced horror and thriller films.
