F. Murray Abraham, born Murray Abraham on October 24, 1939, is an American actor known for his stage and screen roles. He gained prominence for his acclaimed portrayal of Antonio Salieri in the film Amadeus (1984), earning him an Academy Award for Best Actor, a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama, and a BAFTA Award nomination. Abraham made his Broadway debut in 1968 and received an Obie Award for Outstanding Performance for his work in Uncle Vanya (1984) and The Merchant of Venice (2011).
