Hoda Kotb is an American broadcast journalist, television personality, and author. Born on August 9, 1964, in Norman, Oklahoma, to Egyptian Muslim parents, she grew up in Morgantown, West Virginia, and Alexandria, Virginia. Kotb is known as the main co-anchor of the NBC News morning show Today and co-host of its entertainment-focused fourth hour. Before that, she worked as a correspondent for the television news magazine program Dateline NBC. Kotb has also lived in New Orleans, Egypt, and Nigeria. Her father, Abdel Kader Kotb, was a fossil energy specialist and her mother, Sameha, worked at the Library of Congress. With her diverse background and experience, Kotb has become a well-known figure in American television.
