Jay North

Jay Waverly North Jr. (born August 3, 1951) is an American actor. He gained popularity as a child actor in the late 1950s, appearing in multiple TV series, variety shows, and feature films. At the age of 7, he became a household name for his portrayal of Dennis Mitchell in the CBS sitcom Dennis the Menace (1959–1963), based on the comic strip by Hank Ketcham. As a teenager, North starred in two Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer films, Zebra in the Kitchen and Maya, both of which he later adapted into television series. In his adult career, he transitioned to voice acting for animated TV shows, voicing characters like Prince Turhan in Arabian Knights and a teenaged Bamm-Bamm Rubble on The Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm Show. After retiring from acting, North openly discussed the challenges he faced as a child actor and began working with other former child stars.
