Johnny Mathis

Johnny Mathis is an American singer of popular music, born on September 30, 1935, in Gilmer, Texas. He started his career with singles of standard music and later became highly popular as an album artist. Mathis has achieved great success in his career with several dozen of his albums achieving gold or platinum status and 73 making the Billboard charts. He has been recognized with the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award and has been inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame for three recordings. With a discography that spans various genres including traditional pop, soul, rhythm and blues, and even disco, Mathis is the third best-selling artist of the 20th century, selling 360 million records worldwide.
