Johnny Ramone

Johnny Ramone, born John William Cummings on October 8, 1948, was an American musician and founding member of the Ramones, a band that helped pioneer the punk movement. He served as the guitarist for the band until their disbandment in 1996. Ramone's guitar skills were highly regarded, ranking No. 8 on Spins' 2012 list of the '100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time' and No. 28 on Rolling Stone's 2015 list. Besides his music career, he appeared in numerous films and television shows. In 2009, Ramone was featured on Time's list of 'The 10 Greatest Electric-Guitar Players'. He passed away on September 15, 2004. His autobiography, 'Commando', was published posthumously in 2012.
