Katherine Marie Helmond (1929–2019) was an American actress known for her roles in television sitcoms. She gained fame as Jessica Tate in the sitcom Soap (1977–1981) and as Mona Robinson in Who's the Boss? (1984–1992). Helmond also appeared in the British version of Who's the Boss? called The Upper Hand in 1993. She had supporting roles in films like Alfred Hitchcock's Family Plot (1976), Terry Gilliam's Time Bandits (1981), and Garry Marshall's Overboard (1987). Helmond voiced the character Lizzie in Disney/Pixar's Cars film franchise (2006–2017). Born on July 5, 1929, in Galveston, Texas, Helmond was raised by her mother and grandmother.
