Lil Rel Howery, born Milton Howery Jr. on December 17, 1979, is an American actor and comedian. He gained recognition for his role as Robert Carmichael in the NBC television comedy series The Carmichael Show from 2015 to 2017. Howery also made a notable appearance as Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officer Rod Williams in the horror film Get Out in 2017. He created and co-produced the short-lived TV series Rel which aired from 2018 to 2019. Howery grew up in Chicago and attended Providence St. Mel School and Crane High School. He started his comedy career in Chicago and made his television debut on Last Comic Standing in 2007.
