Matt Lauer

Matthew Todd Lauer (born December 30, 1957) is an American former television news personality. He gained national recognition as the news anchor for The Today Show from 1994 to 1997 and later became the co-host from 1997 to 2017. Lauer also contributed to the evening news magazine Dateline NBC and hosted the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade. He has hosted the opening ceremonies of several Olympic Games. Lauer's contract was terminated by NBC in November 2017 following a detailed complaint about inappropriate sexual behavior in the workplace. Lauer was born in New York City and is the son of Marilyn Lauer, a boutique owner, and Jay Lauer.
