Maura Tierney

Maura Therese Tierney is an American actress, born on February 3, 1965. She is renowned for her roles in film, stage, and television. Tierney gained recognition for portraying Lisa Miller in the sitcom NewsRadio from 1995 to 1999. She achieved further success as Abby Lockhart in the medical drama ER, a role she played from 1999 to 2009. Additionally, Tierney starred as Helen Solloway in the mystery drama The Affair, which earned her a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress. Throughout her career, she has appeared in notable films such as Primal Fear, Liar Liar, Primary Colors, and Beautiful Boy. Tierney was raised in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, and comes from an Irish American Catholic family.
