Regina King

Regina Rene King (born January 15, 1971) is an American actress and director. She has gained recognition for her roles in film and television, receiving numerous accolades including an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award, and four Primetime Emmy Awards. King first came into prominence portraying Brenda Jenkins in the television series 227 (1985–1990). She has since appeared in a variety of projects, including the film Friday (1995), the animated series The Boondocks (2005–2014), and the crime series Southland (2009–2013). King has won Primetime Emmy Awards for her performances in American Crime (2015–2017), Seven Seconds, and Watchmen (2019). She has also appeared in films such as Boyz n the Hood (1991), Poetic Justice (1993), and If Beale Street Could Talk (2018).
