Roma Torre Biography
Roma Torre (born April 20, 1958) is an American TV journalist, theater critic, and former news presenter. She gained recognition during her time at NY1, where she served as a lead news presenter for over 28 years. Torre's career at NY1 included anchoring the morning news, the political news program 'Inside City Hall,' and later 'Your News Live at Noon.' She also co-hosted the Tony Awards and co-anchored the inaugural ceremonies at City Hall Plaza. Torre began her career as a news writer and producer at WCBS-TV and later spent five years at News 12 Long Island. In December 2020, Torre and four others left NY1 following an age and gender discrimination lawsuit settlement against Charter Communications. Throughout her career, Torre has made significant contributions to the field of journalism and theater critique.
