Tess Harper (born August 15, 1950) is an American actress known for her roles in various films and television shows. She gained recognition for her performance in the 1983 film Tender Mercies, which earned her a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress. Harper's notable film appearances include Flashpoint (1984), Ishtar (1987), Far North (1988), and No Country for Old Men (2007). She also had a recurring role on the popular television series Breaking Bad for its first three seasons (2008-2010). Prior to her acting career, Harper obtained a degree in education and worked as a ninth-grade English teacher in Springfield, Missouri. She initially started acting in theater productions and gradually expanded to theme parks, dinner theater, and children's theater.
