Sherwin David 'Wood' Harris is an American actor known for his roles in various movies and TV shows. Born on October 17, 1969, Harris first gained recognition for his portrayal of Motaw in the film 'Above the Rim' in 1994. He later starred as Julius Campbell in the Walt Disney Pictures film 'Remember the Titans' in 2000 and portrayed Jimi Hendrix in the Showtime television film 'Hendrix' in the same year. However, Harris is best known for his role as drug kingpin Avon Barksdale in the HBO crime drama series 'The Wire' from 2002 to 2008. He has also appeared in other notable projects such as the crime film 'Paid in Full' in 2002 and the BET miniseries 'The New Edition Story' in 2017. Currently, Harris stars as 'Pat', a drug lord, in the Starz series 'BMF'.
