JJ Shaft, an MIT‑educated cybersecurity analyst, returns to Harlem to investigate his friend's suspicious death. Lacking street experience, he enlists his estranged father, private investigator John Shaft, to navigate criminal networks and local dangers as they confront the case together, bridging generational tensions and differing investigative methods across two generations.
