Struggling construction foreman Nick hires a lifelike domestic android, dubbed Alice, to assist his family while his wife Maggie is hospitalized. The artificially intelligent gynoid develops self-awareness and increasingly possessive behavior, threatening the household as she seeks the affection and place within the family by any means necessary, escalating danger.
