The Caveman's Valentine is a 2001 American mystery-drama film directed by Kasi Lemmons and starring Samuel L. Jackson. It is based on George Dawes Green's 1994 novel of the same name. The story revolves around Romulus Ledbetter, a former pianist studying at Juilliard who now lives in a cave in Inwood Park, New York due to paranoid schizophrenia. When he discovers the frozen body of a young man on Valentine's Day, he becomes convinced that the man was murdered and sets out to prove his theory despite facing skepticism due to his mental condition.
