Martha Helen Stewart is an American retail businesswoman, writer, and television personality. Born on August 3, 1941, she founded Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, focusing on home and hospitality, and achieved success through various business ventures including publishing, broadcasting, merchandising, and e-commerce. Stewart is the author of numerous bestselling books and the publisher of Martha Stewart Living magazine. She hosted two syndicated television programs: Martha Stewart Living (1993-2004) and The Martha Stewart Show (2005-2012). In 2004, Stewart was convicted of felony charges related to the ImClone stock trading case, serving five months in federal prison. However, she made a successful comeback in 2005 and her company returned to profitability in 2006.
