Ramy Youssef

Ramy Youssef (رامي يوسف) is an American stand-up comedian, actor, screenwriter, and director of Egyptian descent. He is best known for his role as Ramy Hassan on the Hulu comedy series Ramy, which premiered in 2019. For his performance on the show, Youssef won a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor – Television Series Musical or Comedy, as well as a Peabody Award in 2020. He has also received two Primetime Emmy Award nominations, one for Outstanding Directing for a Comedy Series and another for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. Youssef was born in Queens, New York City, to Egyptian parents and was raised in New Jersey. He is a practicing Muslim and grew up in a Muslim household, observing Islamic holidays.
