Election

Election is a 1999 American black comedy film directed by Alexander Payne, based on Tom Perrotta's novel of the same name. The plot centers on a high school student election and satirizes politics and high school life. The film stars Matthew Broderick as a teacher who sabotages the candidacy of an overachieving student, played by Reese Witherspoon.
