The Door in the Floor is a 2004 American drama film directed by Tod Williams, based on the first third of the novel A Widow for One Year by John Irving. Set in a privileged beach community in East Hampton, New York, the film explores the strained marriage of children's book author Ted Cole and his wife Marion, as well as the impact of their summer assistant Eddie O'Hare on their lives.
