Hamish Linklater Biography
Hamish Linklater (born July 7, 1976) is an American actor and playwright known for his roles in various TV shows and movies. He portrayed Matthew Kimble in The New Adventures of Old Christine, Andrew Keanelly in The Crazy Ones, and Clark Debussy in Legion. In 2021, he received critical acclaim for his performance as Father Paul in the Netflix horror miniseries Midnight Mass. Linklater was born in Great Barrington, Massachusetts, and is the son of vocal trainer Kristin Linklater. His mother, a Scottish-born Professor of Theatre, raised him in the Berkshires and was a founder of the Shakespeare & Company drama troupe. Linklater began performing small Shakespearean roles at the age of eight. He is also the grandson of arts campaigner Marjorie Linklater and Scottish novelist Eric Linklater.
