The First Cast

Sean Penn portrays Tom Haggerty, a seasoned astronaut and the former commander of the failed first mission to Mars. Tom is haunted by the past and determined to succeed in the second mission, despite facing personal and professional challenges.

Natascha McElhone plays Laz Ingram, a visionary aerospace magnate who leads the private space exploration company responsible for the mission to Mars. Laz is driven and ambitious, but also struggles with the weight of her responsibilities.

Oded Fehr portrays Eitan Hafri, an Israeli astronaut and a member of the Mars mission crew. Eitan is intelligent and dedicated, bringing his technical expertise to the mission while also grappling with his own personal demons.

Anna Jacoby-Heron plays Denise Hagerty, Tom's daughter who is dealing with her own challenges as a teenager. Denise is trying to find her place in the world while coping with the absence of her father and the high expectations placed upon her.

Hannah Ware portrays Sadie Hewitt, another member of the Mars mission crew. Sadie is a skillful pilot and engineer who is determined to prove herself in a male-dominated field. She embodies strength and determination, but also has a vulnerable side.

LisaGay Hamilton plays Kayla Price, an accomplished astronaut and the mission's capsule communicator. Kayla is responsible for maintaining communication with the crew and providing support from Earth.

Keiko Agena portrays Aiko Hakari, a brilliant engineer and member of the Mars mission crew. Aiko brings her technical expertise and problem-solving skills to the mission, but also faces personal challenges as she navigates life in a new environment.

James Ransone plays Nick Fletcher, an astronaut and member of the Mars mission crew. Nick is an experienced pilot who has overcome his own share of personal struggles. He is determined to make the mission a success.
