Jonathan Frederick Tenney (born December 16, 1961) is an American actor best known for his role as Special Agent Fritz Howard in TNT's The Closer and Major Crimes. Born in Princeton, New Jersey, Tenney's parents were a psychiatrist and a research physicist. He attended Vassar College where he studied drama and philosophy, and later attended The Juilliard School's Drama Division. Tenney started his career in theater, appearing in productions such as The Real Thing and Biloxi Blues. He then transitioned to television, starring in various short-lived series. Alongside his TV work, Tenney has also appeared in films such as Tombstone and You Can Count on Me.
