He also had a recurring role as a psychologist in Ally McBeal. Born in New York City, New York, Brooks had a successful career as a character actor in the 1970s and 1980s. He appeared in various TV shows, including M*A*S*H, Night Court, and The Dukes of Hazzard. In addition, he won $10,000 on Pyramid in 1976 and later reunited with his celebrity partner, Lucie Arnaz, in 1988.
