Timothy David Olyphant (born May 20, 1968) is an American actor. He began his career in off-Broadway theater before transitioning to film. In his early years, Olyphant was often cast in supporting villainous roles in movies such as Scream 2 (1997), Go (1999), and Gone in 60 Seconds (2000). He gained wider recognition for his portrayal of Sheriff Seth Bullock in HBO's western series Deadwood (2004–2006), and reprised the role in Deadwood: The Movie (2019). Olyphant has also starred in films like Hitman (2007), A Perfect Getaway (2009), and The Crazies (2010). He had a recurring guest role on the FX legal thriller Damages (2009) and has appeared in other TV shows since then.
